Career
My name is Jarren. I have worked at big companies like Amazon but have a love for early stage companies.
here's a quick run of my career
When I was in college, I had held multiple leadership positions in the college of engineering including the leadership board that held leadership meetings with the board of all the other engineering organizations while working at as an undergraduate researcher at two labs.
After college, I worked a regular software engineering 9-5 while spending my evenings on startups in my own free time including FoodNest, which was funded by the European Union that was focused on decreasing food waste in the supply chain through image recognition. I built their first product, their MVP that was a retrofit system that could be placed in a fridge. I was fresh out of college and didn’t want to move to Europe and moved onto another startup called DiagnosisAI, where I was the first engineer hire, the founding engineer, and the Chief Engineer that built an artificial intelligence with the founders, Henry and Omeed. We partnered with NASA-funded companies, worked with hospitals and clinics, and even had a consumer app that had over 100,000 monthly users. Our startup made it to the front page of the technology section of the Wall Street Journal and we even won a CES Innovation Award in 2019 with our collaborations. The founders later moved onto what we believed was the next most impactful change in the health industry while I wanted to check off a long term goal and affirm myself as a FAANG software engineer where I joined Amazon in 2019.
During my time at Amazon, I had a lot of fun and learned a lot but because I got into Animal Crossing: New Horizons and met Daisy Mae, I got hooked into trading and wanting to learn how to trade. The markets felt like the ultimate API. I also had a lot of personal battles happen and took some time off my career and just focused on growing as a trader and continue working on my side projects. During this time, I got even more dedicated into the crypto space, I wrote my first Solidity contract in 2017 at a selective hackathon at BCG Ventures, but had my love reignited for crypto once I learned about NFTs. I got lucky and minted many projects really early and have had bored ape yacht club apes, pudgy penguins, and had a cryptopunk. I trade now instead of video games and according to analytics tools, one of my wallets is in hovering around the top 200 in OpenSea lifetime volume. I have held advisor positions and worked for some crypto startups in my free time including contributions to open source code.
I love building. On my free time, I love collaboration and building products for people, artists, and what I believe are the next big things.
There are some low lights and anti-resume that has come with the journey like chickening out of Google interviews early in my career or declining significant offers or opportunities but it is what it is.
